One-to-One IT Learning and Digital Development for Autistic and SEN Students in London
A personalised, home-based programme for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Special Educational Needs (SEN). Each student learns in a calm, familiar and friendly setting, supported by a dedicated learning app, careful behavioural understanding and practical, real-world IT skills.
Home visits available across LondonIntroduction
My name is Gobikrishna Devanandam. I live and work in London, United Kingdom, and I bring more than 15 years of professional experience in bespoke web-based software development, enterprise systems, automation platforms, educational dashboards, CRM systems and practical digital solutions.
Over the years, my work has never been only about writing code. It has been about understanding people first and then building technology that genuinely fits their needs. That same principle shapes how I teach. I firmly believe that teaching technology to autistic and SEN students cannot follow the same path as ordinary IT lessons. It needs patience, observation, flexibility and, above all, a learning environment in which the student feels safe.
Every Autistic Student Is Different
Autism is not one learning style. Each child has their own emotional responses, strengths, interests, ways of communicating, sensory sensitivities and pace of learning. What works well for one student may be overwhelming for another.
For that reason, nothing in this programme is "one size fits all". The app, the lessons and the way each session is delivered are shaped around the individual student, so that progress is steady, meaningful and lasting.
A London-Based Service, Delivered in Person
This programme has been designed specifically for students living in London. The reason is simple: for SEN students, where and how learning happens matters just as much as what is being taught.
Sessions take place through individual home visits wherever possible. Learning in their own home, in a space they already know and trust, allows many students to feel settled more quickly. A calm, unhurried and friendly atmosphere reduces anxiety, helps concentration and makes it far easier to build the relationship of trust that real progress depends on.
- One-to-one attention, with no classroom pressure or distraction
- A familiar environment that supports emotional comfort and routine
- The chance to observe the student's natural behaviour, reactions and interests first-hand
- Close, regular contact with parents and carers after each session
- The flexibility to pause, adapt or change the activity the moment the student needs it
Why Online Teaching Rarely Works for SEN Students
We are sometimes asked whether this programme can be delivered online. For typical learners, online lessons can work very well. For autistic and SEN students, however, our experience is that a simple online teaching method is rarely enough, and in many cases it does not work at all.
Through a screen, it is very difficult to read subtle signs of stress, sensory discomfort, fatigue or disengagement. It is harder to offer reassurance, to adjust the pace naturally, or to help a student through a moment of frustration. Connection problems, delays and unfamiliar video settings can themselves become a source of anxiety. Much of what makes this approach effective — being physically present, calm and responsive — is lost online.
Our Honest Position
Because the quality of support matters more to us than the number of students we take on, we have chosen to focus on face-to-face, home-based delivery within London. We would rather offer a smaller service that genuinely works than a wider one that does not serve SEN students properly.
Understanding Autism and Learning Challenges
Current research in neuroscience and psychology recognises that Autism Spectrum Disorder is exactly that — a spectrum. Every student may take in, process and respond to information in a different way.
Many autistic students respond particularly well to:
- Visual and interactive learning
- Clear structure and predictable routines
- Game-style engagement
- Rewards and visible progress
- Calm, uncluttered digital environments
- Learning built around their own interests
- Personal pacing and gentle, consistent feedback
Mainstream approaches often struggle because they expect every student to learn with the same structure, at the same speed and through the same forms of assessment.
In truth, the difficulty usually does not lie with the student. It lies with a system that has not taken the time to understand them.
Why Personalised IT Learning Matters
Important Clarification
This is not a standard private tuition service or an ordinary IT class. The programme combines a personalised learning app, individual assessment, behavioural understanding, a tailored student dashboard and long-term progression planning, delivered alongside regular one-to-one sessions.
The regular one-to-one sessions are where the learning comes to life, but they are only one part of a wider developmental support structure built around each student's needs, abilities, emotional comfort and stage of progress.
Children today connect naturally with technology — through phones, tablets, games, visual platforms, AI tools, YouTube and interactive apps.
Used thoughtfully, technology becomes much more than a teaching aid. It can become a bridge for communication, helping students express themselves, stay focused and grow in confidence.
Our Vision
The aim is not simply to teach computers or coding. It is to create a personal, supportive learning experience that helps autistic and SEN students build confidence, concentration, communication, independence and, in time, real prospects for employment.
Why Standard Courses Often Fall Short
- A fixed syllabus with little or no flexibility
- The same teaching method used for every student
- Limited understanding of behaviour and its causes
- Too little emotional support
- No personal strategy for keeping the student engaged
- Little awareness of sensory challenges
Many autistic learners find it hard to put stress, discomfort, anxiety or confusion into words. As a result, their reactions are frequently misread.
What looks like "difficult behaviour" is very often a sign of emotional overload, sensory stress, boredom, or teaching that has not been adapted to the student. Recognising this, and responding calmly, is central to how we work.
How the Programme Works
Step 1 – Initial Home Visit and Assessment
Every student begins with an initial home visit. This gives us the opportunity to meet the student in their own surroundings, at their own pace, and to begin building a relationship of trust before any formal learning takes place.
During this stage, we carry out a gentle, low-pressure assessment of the student's current IT abilities, communication style, attention span, interests, sensory preferences and emotional comfort. There are no tests designed to catch the student out — the aim is simply to understand them well.
- A relaxed first meeting with the student and family at home
- Observation of interests, reactions and learning behaviour
- An initial view of current IT skills and confidence
- Identification of any triggers, routines or sensory needs to be aware of
- A shared starting point agreed with parents or carers
The initial assessment and home visit form part of the one-off initial charge of £350 (see Step 3), which covers the full setup of the student's personalised programme and access to the learning app.
Step 2 – Family, Teacher and Background Understanding
Technology on its own can never fully understand a child. Parents, teachers, therapists and carers know the student in ways that no app or assessment can, so we work closely with them from the very beginning.
Together, we build a clear picture of the student's routines, emotional triggers, sensory challenges, favourite topics and patterns of behaviour. This makes sure that every session feels safe, predictable and relevant, and that the learning at home fits comfortably alongside school and any other support the student already receives.
This background work is included within the one-off initial charge of £350 and continues informally throughout the programme through regular updates with the family.
Step 3 – Personalised Learning App and Student Dashboard (£350 one-off initial charge)
Once we understand the student, their personalised learning app and dashboard are set up around their comfort level, interests, emotional engagement and way of learning. This becomes the student's own digital learning space, used during sessions and, where suitable, between them.
- Visual themes chosen around the student's interests and comfort
- Interactive exercises matched to their current level
- Rewards and visible progress to build motivation
- A calm, clear and uncluttered interface
- Structured levels that grow as the student grows
- Progress tracking that parents and carers can follow
The one-off initial charge of £350 covers access to the app, the initial home visit and assessment, the background understanding work in Step 2, and the full setup and personalisation of the student's dashboard and learning path.
Please note: because the initial assessment, background understanding and app personalisation are prepared individually for each student, the £350 initial charge is non-refundable once work has begun.
Step 4 – One-to-One Sessions (£50 per 2-hour session)
After setup, the student receives regular one-to-one sessions, each lasting approximately two hours. Sessions are delivered in person at home across London, in a calm, friendly and patient manner, with short breaks built in whenever the student needs them.
For SEN students, consistency and repetition are what turn new skills into lasting ones. The more regularly a student learns, the more familiar the routine becomes, and the faster their confidence grows. For this reason, we recommend the following:
- Three days per week – ideal. This is what we recommend most. It gives the student a steady, predictable routine, keeps what they have learnt fresh in their mind, and offers the best opportunity for clear and lasting progress.
- Two days per week – good. This still provides a reliable rhythm and supports steady progress, provided the student practises at home in between.
- One day per week – we can manage. We fully understand that many families face budget pressures, and we will never turn a family away for that reason. We are happy to work with one session a week. Please be aware, however, that improvement at this pace takes considerably longer, and the support of parents, siblings or guardians at home, following our guidance, becomes absolutely essential.
Each session follows the student's personalised learning levels and adapts to how they are feeling on the day. Depending on ability, interest and progress, learning may include:
- Basic computer skills and confident everyday device use
- Microsoft Office and other everyday productivity tools
- Graphic design
- Video editing
- Website development
- Creative work using AI tools
- Foundations of software development
- Early digital freelancing and work-readiness skills
Each session is charged at £50 for approximately two hours. Three days per week is ideal, and two days per week is good. One day per week can be arranged where budget is a concern, on the understanding that improvement will take noticeably longer and that regular, gentle practice at home, guided by us, will be essential.
Helping Every Student Love to Learn
Kindness Comes First, Always
The single most important goal of this programme is for the student to love learning through the app — not to fear it. A child who enjoys learning will keep coming back to it; a child who feels pressured, frightened or told off will simply shut down.
For this reason, we never use scolding, raised voices, threats or pressure of any kind to make a student learn. Every session is led with warmth, patience and encouragement. Mistakes are treated as a normal part of learning, small successes are celebrated, and if a student is having a difficult day, we slow down, change the activity or simply take a break.
- We are always kind, calm and patient with the student
- Learning feels like play and discovery, never like punishment
- Effort is praised just as much as results
- The student is never compared with other children
- The pace is always set by the student's comfort and wellbeing
The Vital Role of Parents, Siblings and Guardians
The sessions we deliver are only part of the student's learning week. What happens between sessions matters just as much. The support of parents, siblings, guardians and carers, following our guidance, is one of the biggest factors in how quickly and how well a student improves.
After each session, we will share simple, practical guidance on how the family can support the student at home: which activities to practise in the app, how long to spend on them, how to encourage without pressuring, and what signs of stress or tiredness to look out for.
- Sitting alongside the student for short, relaxed practice sessions in the app
- Praising effort and progress, however small
- Keeping practice light, friendly and free from pressure or criticism
- Letting us know about any changes in mood, routine or behaviour
- Following the same kind, encouraging approach that we use in sessions
We ask families to share the same gentle attitude we bring to every session. When the student feels the same warmth and encouragement at home as they do during lessons, learning becomes something they look forward to rather than something they avoid. This is especially important for families choosing one or two sessions per week.
Why This Programme Cannot Be Compared with Other Learning Apps
It is natural to compare this programme with the many educational apps available online. However, we would kindly ask families not to judge it in the same way, because it works very differently.
Ready-made apps are built once for thousands of users and stay largely the same, whoever is using them. Here, the person who visits your home and works with your child is the same person who designs and builds the app.
The Developer Comes to Your Home
Gobikrishna Devanandam is a professional software engineer who develops systems for many companies and works on AI development. Rather than handing your child a fixed product, he observes them individually, session by session, and then adjusts and updates the app day by day to suit what that particular child needs.
- Direct, personal observation of the student during every session
- Ongoing, day-by-day updates to the app based on the student's progress, interests and reactions
- New activities, levels and features created specifically for the individual child
- Professional software engineering and AI development experience applied directly to your child's learning
This means families are not only paying for lessons. They are gaining access to the skills and experience of a working software engineer and AI developer, dedicated to shaping technology around their own child. This level of individual attention and continuous, personal adaptation is not something a standard off-the-shelf app is designed to provide.
Summary of Fees
| Service | What it covers | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Initial charge (one-off) | Access to the learning app, initial home visit and assessment, family and background understanding, and full setup of the student's personalised dashboard and learning path | £350 |
| One-to-one session | An in-person session of approximately two hours at the student's home in London, ideally three times a week, with two or one per week also available | £50 per session |
A Note on Our Fees
We understand that, when viewed from outside the United Kingdom, these fees may appear high. We would kindly ask that this is not misunderstood. The fees have not been set higher simply because we are based in the UK.
They reflect the ordinary cost of providing a service like this in London — including travel to each student's home, preparation time before and after every session, ongoing development and maintenance of the learning app, and the general expenses of running a small, independent service responsibly. They are set at a level that allows us to sustain the work properly and keep offering it to the families who depend on it.
Families Outside London and in Sri Lanka
We Will Always Try to Help
We regularly receive enquiries from families in Sri Lanka and from other areas outside London. We truly value this interest, and we want to be open and honest with you: delivering this programme outside London is difficult for us.
As explained above, SEN students benefit most from in-person, home-based, calm and friendly support, and a simple online teaching method is rarely an adequate substitute. We would not want to promise a service that cannot give your child the level of care they deserve.
That said, this work has always been guided by a sense of humanity and mutual understanding. If you are outside London and still wish to go ahead, we are happy to talk with you and explore what may be possible. Depending on the student and the situation, this could include:
- A carefully adapted arrangement, offered under specific terms and conditions agreed in advance
- Guidance and support for a local teacher, tutor or family member, so that the student can be taught in person by someone near them, using our approach and learning app
- A flexible fee arrangement discussed openly, based on mutual understanding of each family's circumstances
Any arrangement outside London will be considered case by case, and the terms, expectations and limitations will be agreed clearly before any work begins, so that everyone understands what can realistically be achieved.
A Real-World Teaching Approach
My teaching is not based only on textbooks or theory. It draws on real experience in the software industry: real projects, real workflows, real problem-solving and technology designed around the people who use it.
Students learn skills that are practical and relevant, in a way that respects how they think and feel. This builds a far stronger foundation for the future than classroom-only teaching usually can.
Why Commitment and Proper Support Matter
A genuinely personalised programme for autistic and SEN students requires careful planning, ongoing learning, technical development, long-term monitoring and consistent, reliable delivery.
Without proper commitment from everyone involved — parents, siblings, guardians, the student's wider support network and ourselves — even well-intentioned programmes can struggle to produce lasting results. Regular sessions, kind and consistent support at home, and close communication between the family and us are what make the real difference.
Conclusion
This is not simply an IT course. It is a personalised, London-based, home-delivered programme designed to support autistic and SEN students through technology, understanding and calm, structured learning.
Every autistic student deserves an education that sees them as an individual, rather than one that expects them to fit into a system designed for everyone else.
With the right technology, careful assessment, personal planning and patient, face-to-face support, many autistic and SEN students can develop valuable digital skills and go on to build independent and fulfilling futures.

The personalised Autism and SEN digital development system explained on this website is mainly designed as an online and distance-based structured support platform. This allows students to practise, improve, and gradually develop their digital skills from home with support from parents, guardians, caregivers, teachers, or support staff where appropriate.
This system focuses mainly on behavioural understanding, personalised assessment methods, customised dashboards, structured learning approaches, digital engagement activities, progress monitoring, and long-term developmental support through technology-based learning.
Online Personalised Development System
Includes structured digital learning support, customised dashboards, behaviour-friendly engagement systems, progress monitoring, and technology-based development activities designed specifically for Autism and SEN students.
Individual Physical IT Training
Separate one-to-one physical teaching sessions, home visits, practical IT classes, and personalised in-person support may also be available depending on student requirements, location, travel distance, and availability.
Important Clarification
Please note that physical individual classes and home visit training sessions are considered a separate service from the personalised online digital development system.
Individual physical training sessions may involve separate fees based on travel, preparation time, customised teaching arrangements, support requirements, and location.
To avoid confusion, the online personalised development platform and physical one-to-one teaching sessions should be understood as two different support services. Some students may choose only one service, while others may benefit from combining both approaches depending on their learning style, emotional comfort, and developmental needs.
