TechBytz – Terms and Conditions & Privacy Notice

Last updated: 08 April 2026

1. About TechBytz

TechBytz is a self-employed business registered with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and operated by Gobikrishna D, a software developer providing customised web-based software solutions and private IT and coding tuition.

References to “TechBytz”, “we”, “us” or “our” in this document mean the self-employed business operated by Gobikrishna D. References to “you” or “your” mean the student, parent/guardian, or business client using our services.

2. Our Services

TechBytz provides two main types of services:

  • Private IT and coding tuition for general learners and SEN (Special Educational Needs) learners, including guidance towards external certification exams.
  • Customised web-based software development and digital solutions for businesses and organisations.

These services are offered under the same business name (TechBytz) but are managed separately, especially in relation to student registration and business client work.

3. Private Tutoring and Training – Important Disclaimer

All training and tuition provided by TechBytz is delivered personally by Gobikrishna D as private tutoring. TechBytz is not a registered training provider, college, or school and does not issue formal academic or professional certificates.

Where learners wish to obtain formal qualifications (for example, Microsoft-certified exams), we may:

  • Provide guidance on suitable certification paths; and
  • Suggest or help identify approved external exam centres.

Any formal certification is issued solely by the relevant external exam body or exam centre, not by TechBytz or Gobikrishna D.

4. No Guarantee of Exam Results

We aim to provide high-quality tuition and support; however, we cannot guarantee that any learner will pass an exam, achieve a particular grade, or obtain a specific qualification. Exam outcomes depend on the learner’s own effort, ability, and performance on the day of the exam.

5. Business Software Development and Solutions

TechBytz provides customised web-based software development and digital solutions for businesses. This may include, for example, websites, web applications, internal tools, or other online systems tailored to the client’s needs.

Unless explicitly agreed in writing, TechBytz:

  • Does not take ownership of the client’s business data or customer data.
  • Does not use client data for any purpose other than delivering the agreed services.
  • Does not sell or share client data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Where access to live or test data is required for development or troubleshooting, this will be agreed with the client and handled in a confidential and professional manner.

6. Student Registration and Separation from Business Clients

Student registration for tuition is handled separately from business client work. Information collected from students (or their parents/guardians) is used only for managing tuition, communication, and learning support.

Business client information is used only for managing projects, communication, and delivery of software solutions. Student data and business client data are not mixed or used for cross-marketing.

7. Fees, Payment and Cancellations

Fees for tuition and software development services will be agreed in advance, either in writing (for example, by email) or through a written quotation or invoice.

For tuition, we may operate a cancellation policy. Missed or late-cancelled sessions may still be chargeable if reasonable notice is not given. Details can be confirmed individually for each learner.

For software development projects, payment terms (such as deposits, milestones, and final payments) will be set out in the quotation or project agreement.

8. Intellectual Property

For tuition, all teaching materials, explanations, and examples provided by TechBytz remain our intellectual property unless explicitly transferred in writing. You may use them for personal learning but may not reproduce or resell them.

For software development, ownership of the final deliverables (such as code, designs, or documentation) will be agreed with the client. In many cases, the client will own the final product, while TechBytz may retain rights to underlying frameworks, libraries, or reusable components.

9. Limitation of Liability

We will provide our services with reasonable skill and care. However, to the fullest extent permitted by law, TechBytz and Gobikrishna D shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage.
  • Loss of profits, business, or data arising from the use of our services.
  • Exam results, certification decisions, or actions taken by external exam centres or third parties.

All services are provided for educational and support purposes only and do not guarantee specific results, exam success, or employment outcomes.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The latest version will be published on our website. By continuing to use our services after changes are posted, you accept the updated terms.

Privacy Notice

1. Who We Are

TechBytz is a self-employed business registered with HMRC and operated by Gobikrishna D. We act as the “data controller” for personal data we collect in connection with our services.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Notice, you can contact us using the details on our website.

2. What Personal Data We Collect

We may collect and process the following types of personal data:

  • For students and parents/guardians: name, contact details, learning needs, course preferences, session records, and any information you choose to share to support learning (for example, SEN-related information).
  • For business clients: name, business name, contact details, project requirements, and communication records.
  • Website usage data: basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, mainly for security and performance purposes.

3. Data for Business Software Development

In most cases, we do not collect or store your customers’ personal data. Where access to such data is required (for example, to test or support a system), this will be:

  • Agreed with you in advance; and
  • Used only for the purpose of delivering or supporting the agreed service.

We do not use your business data or your customers’ data for our own marketing or for sale to third parties.

4. Student Registration and Learning Data

Student registration information is collected only for managing tuition, communication, and learning support. For SEN learners, any additional information shared about learning needs is used solely to adapt teaching and provide a supportive learning environment.

We do not share student data with other students, other families, or unrelated third parties, except where required by law or with your explicit consent.

5. Legal Bases for Processing

We process personal data under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 on the following legal bases:

  • Contract: where processing is necessary to provide our services to you (for example, arranging tuition or delivering a software project).
  • Consent: where you choose to provide optional information (for example, specific learning needs) or agree to receive certain communications.
  • Legitimate interests: for reasonable business purposes such as record-keeping, security, and improving our services, provided these interests do not override your rights.

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

  • Student-related data is generally kept for a limited period after tuition ends, then securely deleted or anonymised.
  • Business client records may be kept for a longer period for project history, tax, and accounting purposes.

7. Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only in limited situations, such as:

  • With service providers who support our website, email, or IT systems (under appropriate data protection terms).
  • With external exam centres or training bodies, but only where you ask us to assist with registration or guidance.
  • Where required by law, regulation, or a valid legal request.

8. International Transfers

Some of our tools or service providers (for example, email or hosting services) may be located outside the UK. Where this occurs, we aim to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections, in line with UK data protection law.

9. Cookies and Website Tracking

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies to improve performance, security, and user experience. A separate cookie banner or settings tool may be used to manage your preferences where required.

10. Your Data Protection Rights

Under UK data protection law, you have rights which may include the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details on our website. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

11. Contact and Complaints

If you have any questions about these Terms, this Privacy Notice, or how we handle your data, please contact TechBytz using the contact details on our website.

You also have the right to raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how your data is being handled, but we would encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue.

Manage Consent

Consenting to these technologies will allow us to process data such as browsing behaviour or unique IDs on this site.
